Wash day star of last week!
My hair is tangling quite readily at the moment despite my use of braids. This may be because I am scrubbing too hard at my scalp and causing short hairs to clump and tangle with longer ones. However, I thought it was about time anyway to clarify and rejuvenate my hair colour which could also help with tangles. It's very subtle but that works for my relaxed head in not lifting too many shades. Under flash and certain lighting, it pops!
I love it!
The products I used today are pictured below (excluding my clarifying Herbal Essences Moisture Balance Shampoo, which I swapped out my sulphate-free Naked shampoo for):
[1] I pre-pooed for 3 hours with my oil mix in 6 braids after detangling thoroughly with two wide-toothed combs. [2] I rinsed with water then used the Moisture Balance Shampoo to wash. [3] I left my red colour rinse (not pictured) on for 30mins under a shower cap. [4] I rinsed, squeezed excess water out then conditioned with the Reinforcing Conditioner for about 3 mins, concentrating on my roots. [5] I deep conditioned with Keratin Smooth on my ends, Miraculous Recovery on my roots/length and my oil mix to top it all off for 1 hour under 2 shower caps. [6] I rinsed with cool water then cider vinegar (2 tbsp to 1 mug of warm water). [7] I t-shirt dried for 45 mins. [8] I applied my leave-in volume conditioner, oil mix, Coconut Lemongrass Transitioning Creme (L.O.C.) and Nourishing Dry Ends Serum (2 pumps), concentrating on my ends and finger detangling as I went.
Whew! My hair feels well equipped for the next week and really appreciated the way I treated it. Going slowly but surely is great for keeping fragile hair (which mine is) healthy. Wash day is my time to pamper myself and I never wash unless I have time, so for the moment, I'm alright with it taking forever and a day.
'Til Next Time!

Thank you for hosting it! Initially to get the red colour I used L'Oréal Préférence Coloured Ombré which is a permanent dye (boo) but to maintain ever since I dyed I've been using Colour Restore Deep Red which is a damaging chemical free rinse that can be used directly after relaxers, even.
DeleteYour color is awesome!! Hopefully you can get the tangles under control.
ReplyDeleteThank you!

ReplyDeleteThank you :) To maintain my red colour (which I got from initially using permanent dye) I use Colour Restore Deep Red which has no damaging chemicals unlike permanent colour.
